Long form shuffling as a meditation, and for new and seldom used decks.

The shuffling method one uses is a personal thing, though I’d like to share one that I’ve used for new decks, and for decks I need to reacquaint myself with. This isn’t an idea that I came up with myself, but one I learned from another witch back in 2017.

Shuffling isn’t only a method of randomizing the cards, but it is also used for cleansing and connecting with the cards. A good shuffle is like a breath of crisp clean air for the deck. With this method, you also spend a little time with each card.

The first step is to place down anywhere from three to six cards in a row, face down. You will want them spaced apart.
Then take cards from the top of the deck and place them randomly on top of one of the stacks. The stacks do not need to be even.

Next, once all three to six stacks are done, I will cut each one of them so that the number of stacks double. There should be two rows.
After that, I combine the stacks diagonally, like in the image below.

From there, we should have our original number of stacks. From there, I will place stack one on top of three, then two on top of four and so on.
